Like the ER4SR, the ER4XR is built with precision machined, anodized and laser-etched aluminum bodies and features user-replaceable detachable cables. Accurate Earphone Reproduction
For earphones to have 100% accuracy, a recording of a live performance must produce exactly the same sound at the eardrum as the original performance. To achieve this, the acoustic properties of the ear must be factored in. The acoustic resonance and horn effects of the ear change a flat audio signal entering the open ear into sound with a (2700 Hz) high-frequency boost, which is the same response heard at the eardrum in a typical ear.

I've been loving my ER4XRs with custom ear-molds for a year now. They are very comfortable and the closest I've ever experienced to plugging music straight into my brain. The quality of sound is pristine and is almost never compromised by external sounds. Long haul plane flights are a pleasure with quiet music playing in the background and no audible noise from the aircraft. Be mindful that these shouldn't be used when awareness of your surroundings is required. With music playing you hear nothing of the outside world. These earphones are a little costly but are an enduring pleasure for the music lover on the go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent product with the service to back it up. From arranging my impressions to be produced , to receiving the end product, communication with the team was outstanding
Got these custom moulds for my Shure SE425s. Significant ambient noise rejection improvement over the Shure supplied flanges. I'm still getting used to getting them into my ears. But once they're in, they stay in, rock solid. The pull tab needs to sit at the bottom of the antiragus near the ear lobe. These make them super easy to pull out. When attaching to Shures, there's a satisfying click as they lock onto the earphone. So I feel confident they won't slide out, like was happening with the flanges. Thanks Pacific Ears, top notch!
