Like the ER4SR, the ER4XR is built with precision machined, anodized and laser-etched aluminum bodies and features user-replaceable detachable cables. The ER4XR also incorporates the stringent channel-matching standard used in the ER4SR. The ER4XR is ideal for anyone looking for exceptional sound quality with just the right amount of low-end enhancement.
Accurate Earphone Reproduction
For earphones to have 100% accuracy, a recording of a live performance must produce exactly the same sound at the eardrum as the original performance. To achieve this, the acoustic properties of the ear must be factored in. The acoustic resonance and horn effects of the ear change a flat audio signal entering the open ear into sound with a (2700 Hz) high-frequency boost, which is the same response heard at the eardrum in a typical ear.

I've been loving my ER4XRs with custom ear-molds for a year now. They are very comfortable and the closest I've ever experienced to plugging music straight into my brain. The quality of sound is pristine and is almost never compromised by external sounds. Long haul plane flights are a pleasure with quiet music playing in the background and no audible noise from the aircraft. Be mindful that these shouldn't be used when awareness of your surroundings is required. With music playing you hear nothing of the outside world. These earphones are a little costly but are an enduring pleasure for the music lover on the go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I’ve been around planes and guns for twenty years, these are the best hearing protection I’ve ever come across. They’re so comfortable I often forget I have them in
Easy to insert/remove, nice flat attenuation over wide frequency range
Drummer in jazz/swing band. Low volume mostly but can get uncomfortable sometimes. Tried many different plugs over the years, but these are by far the flattest attenuation over a wide frequency range. Takes the edge off the harsh mids without losing the tops and making the low end boomy like most plugs. Also easy to insert/remove.
Great product. Would recommend ordering with the pull tab.

I'm so glad I went through with getting these custom ear tips. As a professional drummer it's been convenient and easy to use generic tips when using in-ears, but these customs are a BIG step up.
