3. Impressions Taken: The clinician will take your impressions*. This is typically included in the price on our website. The impressions taken are sent to our lab.

* Are Ear Impressions Included?  Yes! In most locations, the cost of ear impressions is included in the product price. In some areas, a small surcharge may apply. We have a wide network of fitting points and clinics across Australia. After placing your order, we’ll provide the details of the nearest clinic for your convenience.

4. Product Delivery: Your custom earplugs will be expertly crafted and delivered to you within 1–2 weeks.

GunSportPro Elite: Why electronic hearing protection?

Passive hearing protection is cheaper, and involves no electronic circuit or batteries. However, it is not selective in its attenuation, lowering both low and high sounds. This lowers the level of conversation and other important sounds, but not too much. However, this can be a disadvantage for some.

Electronic hearing protection uses a battery powered electronic circuit that samples your surrounding sound levels in real-time. Safe sound levels are passed through to your eardrums as-is, but the moment sound levels become too high – the hearing protection kicks in and attenuates the sound levels that reach your eardrums.

That means you can keep your hearing protection in at all times in the shooting range. When talking to your instructor — you’ll hear them clearly and naturally, when no loud background noise is present. When you or someone nearby shoots, or continuous noise from vehicles or machinery becomes present — you are protected automatically!

Automatic Hearing Protection + Blast Protection Mode:

Allows natural hearing up to 60dB (normal conversation or background music levels)

Provides 15 dB of automatic hearing protection between 70dB to 115dB (vehicle traffic, power tools, lawn mower)

40 dB noise reduction to protect from blasts and other very loud noises, 120dB and over

Hearing Enhancement + Blast Protection Mode:

Amplifies up to 5X in the 40dB to 60dB range (soft to normal conversation levels)

35 dB noise reduction to protect from blasts and other very loud noises, 120dB and over

Which mode is right for me?

Both modes will protect your hearing from dangerously loud noise levels and blasts, such as gun shots. The modes differ in safe noise levels, such as normal conversation. Hearing Protection mode will let the conversation in your ears, as if you are wearing no protection. The Hearing Enhancement mode will behave as a hearing aid and amplify the conversation.

The right mode for you depends on whether you need or want conversation enhancement or not.

How long is the charge?

Charged Gun Sport Pro (GSP) earplugs last up to 16 hours per charge, and a fully charged case can charge earplugs up to 20 times.

Are Gun Sport Earplugs waterproof?

The GSE Earplugs are IP67 Water-Resistant. Blocking out most dust and waterproof for up to 30 minutes at 1 meter depth.

The Gun sport Pro Elite can be fitted with Etymotic Custom fit Tips for an even better sound seal and comfortable fit.

Very well made and work well...

I purchased the Etymotic GunSport Elite earplugs from https://pacificears.com.au to replace my normal earmuffs when shooting at the range. These earplugs are very well made and work well using the foam tips supplied. Note that for my ears the silicon eartips did not work as well as expected and the attenuation was much greater using the foam tips (there are 3 different sizes supplied for the silicon tips and one set of foam tips). Additional foam tips can be purchased separately which I did to ensure I had a good supply when the original foam tips wear out through use. Other users may find the silicon tips work better but my ear canal preferred the foam versions! I could use the earplugs for a full days session without needing to recharge and there were no issues wearing a hat or beanie. The ability to enhance hearing electronically in addition to blast protection is a great benefit when communicating with others between ceasefires. I will also try the earplugs for hunting as the surrounding sounds can be greatly amplified when using the “Hearing Enhancement” mode. The earplugs are expensive but the protection gained is very much worth it! The customer support from Pacific Ears was also excellent with both email communication and phone calls rapidly answered by Fleur and products sent within a day via Australia Post. Keep up the good work!

Awesome Product!

“Earplugs that make shooting much more enjoyable than earmuffs”
Very pleased with these. I've used my GunSport Elite’s for a few days at the gun range, and also for a handgun class. The simplicity and effectiveness of these plugs really stand out. They are much more comfortable than earmuffs and a good fit for my ears. The sound quality is excellent, and also the rechargeable feature is perfect as they last a long time on one charge. Don R.
